Scrolly thing for a buck ninety nine….

033

049

057

Love my find at the Goodwill for $1.99 ! I had previously just visited Hobby Lobby and looked at other wood –not plastic -scrolly things which were around $35.00 bucks ! I found this one (and it is wood – Yeah Me !) – my favorite gaudy gold – why O why is everything this color ?!?!?! ( I will apologize in advance to Dawn- who loves gaudy gold and thinks I am a geek for changing it !") In less then 24 hours , I had it done and hung. Ooo laa laa it looks so fancy schmancy…

Wonderful. And I spy a cute Valentine's Day plate! You always have such great luck shopping. Maybe on spring break I will get over your way! Will my snowdrift melt by then? Maybe I should have a prize for someone that can predict when it will disappear! Thanks for sharing your inspiration.

The crown on top. The icing on the cake. Good deal and I am so with you on the whole gold thing.
Thanks for your advice on my job post. I did really well in the first interview here but now have to go through an agency who employs you for the first 3 months so the company can drop you with no repercussions in the probation period. Legal stuff.
My big issue is my typing speed and accuracy which I am working on. I am really not going to do well on a typing test. You need to link an email up to this site so I can leave my long ranting comments in an email instead of all over your nice blog.

My motto is if you don't like something paint it black. I do sometimes branch out, not often. Love your stuff.

Great find, Kammy! You are funny! I do love all the things you have painted black or my new fav from you ~~ oil rubbed bronze! There are some things I still like gaudy gold, though. :)

I am so glad to have come upon your blog, I bought one of those scrolly things on sale at Peebles here in Ashland and I thought I was getting a deal. It is not wood, it feels like foam or something. I don't really know.
I wasn't sure what I would do with it and now I know. I was gonna post a picture of mine on my blog tomorrow.
Glad to get ideas from you on what to do with it. You got a GREAT deal,
Betsy

I love it! You won't believe it, but I got rid of two of those things {except mine were resin and gold} last year when we were getting our house ready for sale. That was before I found out about the miracle of spray paint!

Kammy,
Great job as usual! Your whole tablescape is pure eye candy. Hope to see you at Barb's for Tabletop Tuesday. I had hoped to post tonight, but I was unable to get everything ready. Talk soon.

I got something VERY similar at a garage sale (was gold), painted it white-ish...distressed it. It hangs alone above a doorway! Now I know what I can do! I have Many mirrors in the house! I'll combine it with one of them...
Love it!

LOL again! I knew you meant me. I'm probably the only person out here who likes gaudy gold, and shiny brass too (gasp)! Were you asking if I had the old photos displayed or the tasteless gold things? I have a small gold mirror and pocket wall sconce up but found a matching sconce and want to re-do the arrangement. I also have a large mirror I just found and some candle sconces. I do want to get some of the old photos up. My biggest problem is furniture arrangement, I've been trying to figure this house out for 8 years. The only thing I know is in the right place is my knotty pine dinning room set! I know, I'm hopeless. But I don't think you're a geek. Your stuff looks fabulous. I'm acutally pretty jelouse 'casue you get so much done! Don't mind me, keep spraying.

Hey Kammy, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. Have just peeked into your small home in the country. Wow, your list of furniture revamps is impressive. Cool, what a bit of paint can do. Love it!

That is fantastic. I found a little silver compote last week at GW. for 2.00. I'm not usually that lucky there.
Love your scrolly thing over your mirror. Did you use the same paint as for your mirror? It looks more black, but maybe the angle. My friend and I tried to find the Krylon paint you talked about in the post where you did your mirror. No luck.
