Taking a blog break , hopefully a short one !

You may have noticed but, may have not noticed that I have slowed down on my blogging. I am super anemic and have been getting weekly infusions at the hospital just about every week for over a year now. I am going into surgery on September 2nd for a robotic hysterectomy to hopefully solve the anemia. I was hoping the weekly infusions of Venofer would help but, apparently not . I have been deep cleaning my house, so not as much time to blog. I won’t be able to lift for about 6-8 weeks. The robotic surgery is a quick recovery (except for the lifting part) I only intend to be off work for a couple of weeks ) I am so glad that I don’t have to do this anymore.

untitled

I took this picture with my cell phone. It isn’t very good, but you get the idea. I am so ready to do this. Wish me luck.

Hugs ~ Kammy

Kammy - My thoughts/prayers will be with you this week as you undergo your surgery. Hopefully this procedure will solve the anemia issue. Don't push too hard during recovery and I'll look forward to more of your posts in a couple of weeks.

Sorry you are having to go thru this. Sure hope the surgery solves the problem. I will say a prayer for you. I shivered when I saw that picture - don't like those needles. Take care of yourself.

Kammy,
I wish you the best & will keep you in my prayers. I would hate to have needles poked in me like that each week. Ouch!!! I hope the surgery works. For someone who is anemic, you sure get lots accomplished!!! I can't imagine what you'll get done once you are no longer anemic. Yikes!!! We will miss you & your posts. Take care & we will be thinking about you.

Hi Kammy. I had no idea either. I had to have a hysterectomy because I was soo anemic too. It's the best thing that ever happened to me. I no longer suffer like that and I'm soooo thankful. We have to take care of ourselves so we can take care of our loved ones. So sweetie, do what you have to do. Take care of yourself, alrighty?
Hugs,
Sandra

You know we will all be here when you are feeling better. Right where you left us.
This helped my sister many years ago. You will be up and at 'em before you know it. By the way when they say no lifting they really do mean it.

Oh Kammy! I hope the surgery does the trick. Take your time and rest up. The paint company can use the time to get production back up and get those shelves of spray paint re-stocked! Seriousy, now, take care girl!

Kammy-- I just know you will feel so much better after this is all over. I was sooooo anemic for years and years; but once the hysterectomy was over the anemia was under control. Plus, I felt 100 times better. I'll be thinking of you, and hope every thing goes well. Sally

Hi Kammy

I just want to wish you all the best through your surgery and recovery.

I haven't known anyone who has had robotic hysterectomy. J had robotic prostatectomy last year (prostate cancer) and came through with flying colors! Recovery was quicker than full abdominal. He says if he had it to do over again, he would choose the same procedure. Will keep you in my thoughts.

I had a complete everything but the kitchen sink hysterectomy (full abdominal) almost 11 years. I can tell you, from my experience, I felt like a brand new woman! I hope this solves your problem with anemia.

I have to add. When J was talking with our physician about his robotic surgery and again with the urologist, they both told us, young doctors are the ones doing the majority of robotic surgery, because they are so adept after growing up with video games. I would never have thought that. J's surgeon was indeed young, in his thirties. He is not only an excellent surgeon but so very compassionate. We were very impressed with him.

Oh Kammy, I hope the surgery solves your anemia! It must be so frustrating for you, because it seems like you like to keep busy transforming things, and the anemia must be holding you back. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Kammy- I have been wondering what you were up to! If you accomplish all you seem to while you are this anemic, I can't wait to see you at full speed :)Take care of yourself; the house will wait--they always do. Will keep you in my prayers. Wish I were there to bring your family a meal!

Oh Kammy, I agree with the others who said one would have never guessed that you were having such drastic health issues by the number of makeover projects you accomplished on a regular basis. Good grief! Think what you will be able to do when you are really feeling good!

Please take care and concentrate on your recovery. We will be here when you get back. :)

Hello Dearheart...

I just read a comment that you left over at Sharing with Sherri's place and thought I would stop by...hadn't visited with you for awhile!

Ohhh my...Darlin', I had no idea that you suffered with such severe anemia...that can be so scarry! My youngest daughter Jenni also has severe problems with it...I nearly lost her a couple of times when she was having her children! The Drs. have tried everything with her as well...to no avail! I sure can sympathize with you, Sweetie and I'm so happy to hear that the surgery may help!!! Not happy that you have to have the surgery of course, but happy that the outcome will help! I will definitely be praying for you, my friend!!! When you're up to it..please drop me a note and let me know how you are doing!!! In the meantime...get lots of rest and just know that I'm thinking about you!!!

Sending lots of love and prayers your way....
Love ya,
Chari

Hi Kammy - I'm just now reading this so by now you're well on your way to recovery and I hope your surgery went well. I had exactly the problems you had...was tremendously anemic and you will be amazed at how much better you'll feel. The laproscopic surgery makes a tremendous difference...you recover a lot faster. HEAL! :)Nancy
