Mornin' Girlfriend...
Ohhh...I love that big ol' decorative iron piece...I just love that kind of stuff...can't believe that you got it for a mere $7.99!!! Hmmm...what are you going to do with it or use it for? I just bought a decorative iron birdcage...so similar...and I added greenery to it and placed it on top of my hutch that was my Grandma's...it turned out nice!
You won't believe it...but I have a glass fruit tray just like the one you got...only mine is clear glass! It came from my late mother-in-law so I'm not really sure of how old it is! But the minute I seen it...I fell in love! I haven't really served anything on it yet but have had it sitting out on my kitchen counter just because it's so pretty!
Great treasure finds, my friend! I'm so happy for you and can't wait to see what you do with them!
Have a wonderful Thursday, Sweetie!

There are lots uses for that iron piece. I can't wait to see what you will come up with.
I would have to call that an "iron chest thing" as well. I have no idea what it is but it certainly does have possibilities!

Welcome to Thrifty Thursday! I've enjoyed looking back through your blog! Lots of inspiration, you are a girl after my own heart armed with a can of spray paint! I lived in a small house at the foot of the Rockies when I was a child. My mom loved picking up thrify finds out there and some of them have ended up in my house!
You behaved VERY nicely today, I'm sure that you won't be kicked out!
Love the big iron chest thing!!

My first thought about the green plate is the 50's. I was completely and totally sure of it. Then I asked my husband and he said Definitely the 30's. LOL I guess I have no idea :) but I like it, too!
Nice to have met you on your first TT.

Oh Kammy, what a cheap shot! LOL! That's ok. I'm also lazy and cheap has one less syllable than thrifty.
I love when we find items that no ones know what they are. "Thingies" are so fun to collect!
Dawn

Hello! Fun things! Don't you just love a bargain!
Kammy--love these finds! I saw a clear glass tray just like that at a thrift store this week, even had it in my hand for a while--but, alas, I put it back, trying to be "good".
Wait until you see what I found TODAY! I'll have it ready for Rhoda's party.
BTW, I almost always participate in the First Monday Sale, offering 15% off, so keep that in mind for Sept.
Have a great weekend!

Sorry - no help on the tray. I sure do like them both. Great finds.

very cool, kammy!
do i sense some spray-painting in the "iron thing"s future or will it be left as-is?
i just spray-painted a wire basket pink. i think it just needs a little shabbifying, maybe some rub 'n buff, and then it could be post-worthy! LOL
happy weekend!
xo
Kammy,
I have that same serving dish. In fact I just used it in my tropical tablescape a few weeks ago on my sideboard. I got mine in the 70's.
Love the iron chest.
Sandy
Love that iron thingy! You have to show it to us in its new habitat! Have a blessed weekend!
I love your blog and all the great items you have found. I have a question, do you spray all of your furniture with a spray gun or do you ever roll the paint on. I bought a big piece today and I really am not sure what the best way to paint it is. you can send me an email with the answer if you don't mind (angiesue94@yahoo.com). Thanks.
Hi Kammy, I have an award for you, stop by to pick it up!
