I am participating in Today's Thrifty Treasures – Please see the link at the bottom of this post. These Bloggers will get you motivated on great buys on used stuff and sometimes new stuff – If you are a shopaholic – beware !
I would first like to say that I appreciated Rhoda’s tutorial on plate hanging you can find it here:
http://southernhospitalityblog.com/hanging-plates/
I had purchased plates and really wanted to try this and after getting the low down from Rhoda – I was hanging a way !
Thanks Rhoda !
I can include everything in this picture as a Thrifty Find…
The plates I found at the Thrift store for a buck a piece.
The creamer as 1/2 price for a buck at the GW.
The little jar was a buck at the thrift store.
The little holder thing was a buck and the Good Ol Dollar Store.
The shelf was $2.99 at the GW and very homely looking see below:
Pure Plastic ! Good Golly ! Remember my mirror below is Pure Plastic too (it was in an earlier post for $5.00 at the ARC Thrift Store)
See how nice they all look together ? I am in Luv…..
Brassy and Not So Sassy
$2,99 at the GW – flowers and all –the flowers were so gross and dirty !
I painted the bird cage with the Rustoleum Hammered Bronze. I just for display put it on another one of my GW finds….remember it was gaudy gold ??
I didn’t have to do a thing to this ?? What is it a plant container ?? It is huge and so perfect. It is heavy and the bottom has the original price of $100 bucks and a sale price of $40.00 and I got it for $6 bucks – SCORE !!!
Hugs , Kammy

That looks great, Kammy! I love the plates ... they all look so nice together. I've got a few plates I could really hang - maybe I can get to it this week! You had some great luck, love that birdcage too!
Your plates look pretty, that whole vignette looks great. I love hanging plates too - it's cheap art!
Manuela

Holey Moley, Kammy- you got deals!!!! I love everything you got. The plates look so good over the shelf and the jars & creamer. The birdcage looks so good in that color. I love it! :-) Sue
Wow! You did great, girl! I love everything you found and the transformations too!

The mirror and the little shelf must have been meant for each other. They look grand and I would never have guessed that they are plastic!
Whoohoo! You really did good Kammy! Love all your great purchases and I like your wall arrangement! Very nice...
You always find lovely things! I love what you did with your "pure plastic" things!
Rhonda
I'm a big fan of those plastic mirrors lately! I've got two of them hanging on my porch, and you can't tell they're gaudy plastic. Love the birdcage painted with the Hammered Bronze too. I passed up 3 cages last week. I was so proud of my restraint, and now you're making me wish I had bought them all!
She shoots, she scores, again. You find the best stuff and know just what to do with it.
You got some more great deals going on there, girl! And geeez, I think your thrift store prices are much more reasonable than where I live. Since I have a "thing" for pink floral plates, they're my favorite, although the birdcage is pretty darn cute too! :)
Awesome finds!
Wow who would have thought that sweet pink flowers could work so well with black! I love your finds and what you did with them.
Thanks for becoming one of my followers! I hope we will get to know each other well.

Great scores! You found some wonderful additions to your home. I love the plate arrangement.
Your cage is adorable and the planter with some arrangement is going to look gorgeous somewhere in your home.
You are a master at finding junk plastic and transforming them. They look great! Love the birdcage, too. It's hot, hot in our part of the state today - how about you? Sally
Great finds, and looks very nice the way you have everything put together. Jackie
Thanks for the comments!
and is 'hammered bronze' close to Oil Rubbed Bronze?
(I started repainting some fixutures in my house, ran out of ORBronze and now nobody sells it in town! Grrr)
and I say paint the planter hammered bronze too! (does it make it look hammered?)
Your birdcage looks amazing, spray paint is a decorating wonder! And your plates are lovely how you have them all arranged over the shelf. Great job!
Great thrift-store finds, Kammy!
Thanks for dropping by DesignTies and commenting on my recent post about painting my nesting tables :-) It's so funny... I'd been thinking about this project for a while, but one of the things that finally got me on to the task was recently reading about the transformation of your pine-to-black armoire! I would have included it as one of my inspiration pics ~ in fact, I thought about it but I forgot (bad me!!) where you were!!
And my new Mouse? Love it!! But I found that my hand and arm tingled for a little while after I turned it off. HaHa!!
Again... thanks for dropping by!
Victoria @ DesignTies

Everything looks so beautiful.

Don't you just love how black paint transforms the ugliest of items into beauties.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Hugs,
Connie
The plates look really pretty! I love the birdcage too. I had a bigger one a few years back and could kick myself for selling it. Back then I didn't think of painting it!
Hey Kammy
I was just checking in at Our Suburban Cottage and she had asked people to put their 2 cents in on Oil Rubbed paint. Di you use the Krylon Brushed Metallic or the American Accents Metallic? You might go over and put your 2 cents in since you have used yours on the light that came out so amazing. The bird cage looks nice also.
Cheri
Its So Very Cheri
Everything looks so pretty. My oh my, that shelf really was transformed. I wish I could spray myself in hammered bronze, and come out looking new.

Hi Kammy...
Just read the sweet note that you left for me on my new frenchy blue china...Girl, it was so good to see you! So what have you been up to? Looking down through the last couple of posts that I missed...I see that your still keeping busy with projects!!!
Ohhh...I love your hall tree!!! It looks beautiful in your back entry and love the pretty frame and fabric picture that you hung beside it! I'd love to find a hall tree like that, of course I'm not sure where I'd put it. Hehe! Those projects turned out really nice...love them!
Now...I love, love, LOVE your new plates wall grouping!!! They're gorgeous and I think the way you hung them looks beautiful...love the shelf under them! Girl, you're awesome at transforming all of these goodies! And this wall grouping looks fab with that big frenchy mirror...love that!!! Well Darlin'...I always love coming to your place...you have such a beautiful home and so many great ideas!!! I'll talk with you later, my friend!
Love ya,
Chari
I love your pure plastic. I actually have sold alot of those on Ebay. Pink, White, Black even French Grey. Some of the stuff that I have is Syroco. I love the way that you put everything together. Great job! Leslie
I would love to see some of your painting. I have to be in the right mood to paint or it just doesn't look good.
Crazy that Micheal's doesn't carry the books any more. I end up buying mine on ebay or in the independent smaller art/painting stores. I have boxes of them.
Haven't seen you in a while and now I know why. You are one busy painting gal! Love all your redos all the way down to the red chairs. Fun colors for that cute teen ;-)
Hey Kammy--I'm trying to catch up from Monday's party. Wow you have really scored some great items and I am loving SPRAY PAINT!!! Everything I see now has a "different look" since I can see it a different color.
Thanks for sharing!
I loved the great treasures you found at the thrift stores and enjoyed seeing how some of them were transformed (with wonderful results). I love shopping thrift stores and seem to come home on a regular basis with a new treasure to transform. I will have to post some of my "trash to treasures".
