Thanks to everyone who left such kinds posts about my surgery. I am not a wordy person so it is hard to express how great you made me feel…just know that you did ! Here is what I have learned:
Relax
Percocet is my friend – I really didn’t get it, tried to do no drugs coming home but found that Percocet does MAKE you relax. I have a problem with relaxing, I don’t wanna do it. I think I am wasting time lying around and not being productive. Don’t worry the doc only gave me 1 bottle , so I won’t get hooked, LOL.
TV
Yesterday was my most alert day, so I laid on the couch all day and watched TV. My new favorite shows included :
The Dog Whisperer – Man, that show can make you cry. The show also makes you smart. I learned oh so many new skills. Silence is powerful (got to work on that one).
Design Star was the next show I watched back to back .I have never watched this show….It was fun to watch others create….I also had allot of “what the heck” were they thinking moments and oh, I could do soooo much better, LOL. Who’s money are they spending anyway ??? I would be ticked as a homeowner, if they spent my money in the way that some did for half finished projects. Also, I think the producers need to account for more time on larger projects……If I were the director….hmmmm. Now I have to watch the finale – of course it wasn’t part of the back to back show schedule.
What will I watch today ? I signed up for Netflix – so so good comedies and romances should be arriving soon.
Eat
I have been sick, nothing tastes great and don’t feel like eating much. I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 9 pounds ! I hope to stay on this diet for about 9 more and then I will be good !
My hubby grilled burgers for the first time….yes, I know this is weird…he has never been a “griller” so I do it. He was extremely pleased with how the burgers turned out and I see a future….
Housework
Our dishwasher is not working. It is just 2 years old…doesn’t surprise me as the stove and microwave have already had serious problems..Just wait till I post about my remodeled kitchen and the appliances I will NEVER buy again. It is kinda cute watching my hubby hand wash dishes……sorry babe, I can’t help……
My hubby did say that my pointer finger worked and it does !!!! I used it with Megan (my fifteen year old) to vacuum , cook and various other tasks.
I am so very glad that I spent the weekend before surgery shampooing my carpets and cleaning everything WELL. It looks pretty good still.
Shopping
I bet that people found great buys yesterday at the annual 1/2 off day at most of the local thrift stores (sniffle, sniffle). I am saving money by not shopping…..and leaving much more stuff for all you girls….
Rest
This surgery will knock you off your behind. I had to do this posting in bits and pieces because I am super tired. I wasn’t fully awake for a complete TV show until day 6. Funny thing the body, it does let you know when you have done too much.
I love you guys and I can hardly wait to get back to blogging more regular !
Hugs ~ Kammy
I painted (practiced) a little before my surgery and plan on picking up and practicing soon….do you know there are a gazillion ways to paint roses ??? I need way more practice and I can’t believe that I am posting these pictures…. Be kind…
Yes, I know I didn’t give him eyes, legs, tail feathers or a teacup to rest on..just practice and I only did one…..The roses are like 30 seconds so maybe if I slow it down and take my time I could get better…..

Kammy it is so good to read this wonderful update. I remember the wt loss after my surgery! Woot Woot!! Great feeling!
Your roses are beautiful!
Rest and take care.
So glad to hear your feeling better! Oh my those roses are so cute and girl looks like you have been painting for years. I love those and the birdie is so cute!
Can't wait to see more of your painting. Take it slow though and feel better! Oops I loved percocet when I had my csection...it was a lifesaver.
Good to see you. Any kind of surgery knocks the stuffing out of you. Remember to take it easy even when you do feel more energetic.
Good job on the roses. From a distance I thought they were Donna Dewberry style but up close they are different. They really do look great.
Kammy, so glad you are feeling stronger. I love your roses and the birdie, I am always amazed with people who can paint and you truly can. Marla
Kammy,
You sound wonerful and it sounds like your family definitely knows who is in charge!! You need to be careful when you start to get back on your feet, you will feel great and then the energy will drain from you in a second. Be near a chair!! ;-)
Your paintings are gorgeous. Oh, I'd love a legit excuse to be confined to bed!! lol!!
xoxo

Great that you are feeling a little better. I will continue to pray for a really speedy recovery. So glad everyone is helping out. Your roses are all gorgeous, I think you have done really good. Hugs, Marty
Happy to hear that everything went well. It sounds like you are not trying to overdo things and that is good (it may be hard...but, I repeat, it is good). It's nice to have the family there to get things done.
Your painting looks great. I always envy those with the talent to draw and paint.
Take care!
Jane
So glad to hear you are on the road to recovery.

Kammy, glad you are 'on the mend'

So glad to hear from you too and that you are getting better. Rest some more to gain your strengh back.
Willow
Glad to hear you are on your way to recovery. Do what the Doc says and do not do to much to soon. Pretty roses.
I didn't even know you were having surgery!!! I am sorry I missed that post or I would have sent well wishes your way! I hope the recovery continues to go well and I hope you heal very quickly! But in the meantime, try and relax!! I am the same way so I know how you feel, but downtime now is so important. :)

Glad your recovering nicely. Soon that finger will be back to clicking and spraying too!
Your painting practice sheets look great! It's fun learning those techniques isn't it?
Dawn
Hi Kammy,
Sorry I haven't been by sooner!
I'm so sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well.
I didn't realize that having a hysterectomy could alleviate anemia either.
Well I hope you'll be feeling better very soon and back to revamping your T/S treasures soon!
But take your time and get all the rest you need!
I see that you must be already contemplating your next project with your rose painting practices!
Looks like you've really got it down, they look great!
What ya gonna paint those roses on??:) Well, I'll be waiting patiently to see!
Now you get plenty of rest, okay!
Big Hugs!
Sherri:)
I'm a new reader of your blog and I think your roses are very lovely. Hope you will feel strong and healthy again soon.
Wonderful post! Glad to know you felt up to doing it. I know about percoset (after 6 surgeries). It's easy to see how addiction can occur. The paintings are wonderful. Will we see more of this talent? Sally
Glad you are feeling better. Your roses look great! Your post was great, even for a gal on drugs...
Thanks so much for the update. I am grateful to hear that you are doing well.
Darlin', if those roses are practice, you got it down! They look great. (the ones I try, even with the help of a class, always come out looking like pink artichokes)
Hi Kammy,
So glad you are on the mend. Hope this will do the trick for you!
Your roses are beautiful, really!
I could never do that!
Rest up and give your body time to heal...
Glad you are back!
Kathleen
Hi Kammy. Great to read your post. Try to rest and take it easy. I love your roses! You did a great job. :)
Blessings,
Sandra
Kammy, I didn't know about your surgery. I am soooo slow getting around Blogville! Glad you are recuperating. I LOVE your roses! I have zero artistic talent, so I am VERY impressed! Hope you continue to recuperate well. Milk it. Lay on that sofa taking pain meds for as long as you can! laurie
So glad you are feeling better. Just take it easy and how wonderful you are being able to do things a bit at a time!!
Hi Kammy, so good to get this update. Please continue to take good care of yourself. Your roses are beautiful....just like you!!!!
Prayers and many hugs, Barb :-)
Feel better real soon!! The roses are beautiful!! I wish I could paint. Stop by when you can. Hugs!! Connie
It is so good to see that you are feeling better! I know how hard it is to just force yourself to relax and recover and I think it's great you are taking that time!
I absolutely am amazed by your paintings - I thought they were all beautiful!!
Hi Kammy,
I am posting tomorrow and linking back to your blog about the red spray paint you used for your chair. I bought some as well and love it! Thanks for pointing us in the right direction. :o)
I hope you are feeling good today. :o)
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
Hi Kammy,
Missing your posts girl! That surgery is tough and I am glad to hear your resting it up. I love your updates, so cute! I also have to say your roses are excellent!! I can't wait to see what you are planning to do . Hugs, Cindy
I hope that when you read this you are feeling better and a bit stronger each day. I think your roses are wonderful. Please take care of yourself and don't worry about the house and your husband needs a Bobby Flay grill book since he is now into grilling.
Joyce
No, no, Kammy, the little bird is perfect just the way he is! I like him that way!
And your roses are some of the prettiest I've ever seen, really! You are Blessed with a beautiful talent! I'm in awe of it.
Rest. Relax. Keep creating beauty!
I'll keep you in my prayers.
Feel good.
All the best,
Eileen
The BEST thing I did was joing this support group. They literally saved me pain. I swear they have an answer to every problem you can possibly have and are so supportive. You will be linked with women who had their surgery the same week as you. Goos luck and take it easy.

Kammy-I was so glad to hear from you! You keep using that pointed finger until it stops working! Take care and don't lift anything heavier than a paint brush :)--love the roses!
I have been meaning to post and am finally sitting down to do it! I am glad to hear you made it through alright and that you are getting your rest. And the weight loss, yay! What a nice added bonus... ;-) I hope you are feeling much better soon, but don't rush it! Your roses are beautiful and I love the poor wingless, eyeless, etc bird, he is cute =D Oh and the Dog Whisperer was one of my fav shows when we had cable, he is amazing. Take care!
Hi Kammy, hope you are feeling better! Your painting is wonderful!
Glad to read something from you, Kammy. What an ordeal but take advantage of not doing anything. Get lots of rests. Netflix is great, so practical, you will enjoy the good service. You take care so you can do tablescapes again cause I miss your creations...Christine
Oh Kammy! I haven't been around for a bit either and now that I've checked in, I see your surgery news. I think that you will feel soooo much better after this and I'll be praying for quick healing.
Love your roses! I wonder if I could learn how to do that; so pretty! Enjoy your forced rest~Cindy
Found your blog this morning. Love the roses, very good!
So glad to hear you are recovering well from surgery. I remember Percocet after my C-Section...they are very nice...like you I only had the one bottle..good thing..lol
Thanks for stopping by and considering me as one of your fav blogs....such an honor! Hope you are still doing better! Cannot wait to see what you have spray painted black....
xoxox~ Tonya
Kammy, Happy to read that you are doing better. Don't over-do anything, even if you think you are capable. Your body will need extra time to recover, even though your mind says you are ready...
Let others help take care of you and rest while you can. And any drugs you realize you no longer need, send them off to me for the aches and pain in my neck. And I don't mean the husband. LOL
Take care of yourself, Sue
I hope you start feeling better soon. You are so right, your body will shut down if you don't. Take care of yourself so you can do more amazing projects.
Cheri
Your roses are beautiful...do you sell them?
Glad you are feeling better...take it easy.....
Just came by to see if there was an update on your recovery and let you know I am thinking of you.
Cheri
The roses are awesome - must be all the percocet (just kidding). Hope your recovery continues to go well.
I've been away from my blog lately, so I didn't know you were having surgery. I hope you'll feel better soon. I'll pray for a smooth recovery.
Your roses look really pretty.
I love watching the Dog Whisperer. He does such an amazing job...and truthfully I think he trains the people as much as the animals. Some of the stories are pretty neat. Enjoy your TV time while you rest and recoup! Netflix is awesome. I think you'll really like it.
Just checking in to see how you are doing. :)
I know you are around even though your blog dates to Sept. 8. First...thank you so much for deciding to follow me. I am not all that worthy..but I appreciate it very much!
Your roses are lovely. I am doing the same thing but now have stopped. I need to get back to it and practice more. There is no short cut is there?
I am preparing myself for surgery too..Sept. 30. Tuesday is my preop visit. Nerves get to me at times..but I will be fine.
I hope you are doing alright.
Again...thank you!!
Mona
Only a few days away until surgery. I was hoping to shampoo the carpets and mow the yard before Wednesday. I have been so tired from blood loss I suppose.
I had spinal surgery 7 years ago and that was very difficult. All I could do was lay in bed. I was months in pain and having physical therapy. Didn't think I'd ever get over it. But I'm glad I had the surgery and I am well now. I hope this will not be as bad as that surgery.
I plan to rest and take it easy and do NOTHING! I just want to relax for a change.
Continue to get well. Big hugs!
Hi Kammy! I was just thinking about you today. I miss seeing all of your makeovers every day, so I decided to drop in and see how you're doing. Sounds like a long recovery time, but I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better! I had no idea that you are a talented painter too! You can do it all! Love the bird and the roses!
Take care!
Carol
Take it easy...and you're right, Percocet is nice...I guess that's why they only dole it out a little bit at the time. LOL
The roses are beautiful! Did you take a class or learn from a book? Hoping you have a speedy recovery.
