I made it , an update !

Thanks to everyone who left such kinds posts about my surgery.  I am not a wordy person so it is hard to express how great you made me feel…just know that you did ! Here is what I have learned:

Relax

Percocet is my friend – I really didn’t get it, tried to do no drugs coming home but found that Percocet does MAKE you relax. I have a problem with relaxing, I don’t wanna do it. I think I am wasting time lying around and not being productive. Don’t worry the doc only gave me 1 bottle , so I won’t get hooked, LOL.

TV

Yesterday was my most alert day, so I laid on the couch all day and watched TV. My new favorite shows included :

The Dog Whisperer – Man, that show can make you cry. The show also makes you smart. I learned oh so many new skills. Silence is powerful (got to work on that one).

Design Star was the next show I watched back to back .I have never watched this show….It was fun to watch others create….I also had allot of “what the heck” were they thinking moments and oh, I could do soooo much better, LOL. Who’s money are they spending anyway ??? I would be ticked as a homeowner, if they spent my money in the way that some did for half finished projects. Also, I think the producers need to account for more time on larger projects……If I were the director….hmmmm. Now I have to watch the finale – of course it wasn’t part of the back to back show schedule.

What will I watch today ?  I signed up for Netflix – so so good comedies and romances should be arriving soon.

Eat

I have been sick, nothing tastes great and don’t feel like eating much. I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 9 pounds ! I hope to stay on this diet for about 9 more and then I will be good !

My hubby grilled burgers for the first time….yes, I know this is weird…he has never been a “griller” so I do it. He was extremely pleased with how the burgers turned out and I see a future….

Housework

Our dishwasher is not working. It is just 2 years old…doesn’t surprise me as the stove and microwave have already had serious problems..Just wait till I post about my remodeled kitchen and the appliances I will NEVER buy again. It is kinda cute watching my hubby hand wash dishes……sorry babe, I can’t help……

My hubby did say that my pointer finger worked and it does !!!! I used it with Megan (my fifteen year old) to vacuum , cook and various other tasks.

I am so very glad that I spent the weekend before surgery shampooing my carpets and cleaning everything WELL.  It looks pretty good still.

Shopping

I bet that people found great buys yesterday at the annual 1/2 off day at most of the local thrift stores (sniffle, sniffle). I am saving money by not shopping…..and leaving much more stuff for all you girls….

Rest

This surgery will knock you off your behind. I had to do this posting in bits and pieces because I am super tired. I wasn’t fully awake for a complete TV show until day 6. Funny thing the body, it does let you know when you have done too much.

I love you guys and I can hardly wait to get back to blogging more regular !

Hugs ~ Kammy

I painted (practiced)  a little before my surgery and plan on picking up and practicing soon….do you know there are a gazillion ways to paint roses ??? I need way more practice and I can’t believe that I am posting these pictures…. Be kind…

017

022 023

024

019 Yes, I know I didn’t give him eyes, legs, tail feathers or a teacup to rest on..just practice and I only did one…..The roses are like 30 seconds so maybe if I slow it down and take my time I could get better…..

Can't wait to see more of your painting. Take it slow though and feel better! Oops I loved percocet when I had my csection...it was a lifesaver.

Good to see you. Any kind of surgery knocks the stuffing out of you. Remember to take it easy even when you do feel more energetic.
Good job on the roses. From a distance I thought they were Donna Dewberry style but up close they are different. They really do look great.

Kammy,

You sound wonerful and it sounds like your family definitely knows who is in charge!! You need to be careful when you start to get back on your feet, you will feel great and then the energy will drain from you in a second. Be near a chair!! ;-)

Your paintings are gorgeous. Oh, I'd love a legit excuse to be confined to bed!! lol!!

Happy to hear that everything went well. It sounds like you are not trying to overdo things and that is good (it may be hard...but, I repeat, it is good). It's nice to have the family there to get things done.
Your painting looks great. I always envy those with the talent to draw and paint.
Take care!

Hi Kammy,

Sorry I haven't been by sooner!

I'm so sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well.

I didn't realize that having a hysterectomy could alleviate anemia either.

Well I hope you'll be feeling better very soon and back to revamping your T/S treasures soon!
But take your time and get all the rest you need!

I see that you must be already contemplating your next project with your rose painting practices!
Looks like you've really got it down, they look great!

What ya gonna paint those roses on??:) Well, I'll be waiting patiently to see!

Now you get plenty of rest, okay!

Big Hugs!
Sherri:)

Wonderful post! Glad to know you felt up to doing it. I know about percoset (after 6 surgeries). It's easy to see how addiction can occur. The paintings are wonderful. Will we see more of this talent? Sally

Darlin', if those roses are practice, you got it down! They look great. (the ones I try, even with the help of a class, always come out looking like pink artichokes)

Kammy, Happy to read that you are doing better. Don't over-do anything, even if you think you are capable. Your body will need extra time to recover, even though your mind says you are ready...
Let others help take care of you and rest while you can. And any drugs you realize you no longer need, send them off to me for the aches and pain in my neck. And I don't mean the husband. LOL
Take care of yourself, Sue

I've been away from my blog lately, so I didn't know you were having surgery. I hope you'll feel better soon. I'll pray for a smooth recovery.

Your roses look really pretty.

I love watching the Dog Whisperer. He does such an amazing job...and truthfully I think he trains the people as much as the animals. Some of the stories are pretty neat. Enjoy your TV time while you rest and recoup! Netflix is awesome. I think you'll really like it.

I know you are around even though your blog dates to Sept. 8. First...thank you so much for deciding to follow me. I am not all that worthy..but I appreciate it very much!
Your roses are lovely. I am doing the same thing but now have stopped. I need to get back to it and practice more. There is no short cut is there?
I am preparing myself for surgery too..Sept. 30. Tuesday is my preop visit. Nerves get to me at times..but I will be fine.

I hope you are doing alright.
Again...thank you!!

Only a few days away until surgery. I was hoping to shampoo the carpets and mow the yard before Wednesday. I have been so tired from blood loss I suppose.

I had spinal surgery 7 years ago and that was very difficult. All I could do was lay in bed. I was months in pain and having physical therapy. Didn't think I'd ever get over it. But I'm glad I had the surgery and I am well now. I hope this will not be as bad as that surgery.

I plan to rest and take it easy and do NOTHING! I just want to relax for a change.

Continue to get well. Big hugs!
