Outdoor Wednesday – Good Guys Car Show

Outdoor Wednesday logo

This is my first Outdoor Wednesday..Your Hostess  Susan at  http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/ is kind enough the have this event….hopefully my sillys won’t ban me from her site…do visit !

Are any of you ladies married to a car buff ? Well, I am so it that time of the year to hit the car shows ! My husband has 4 project cars at the moment he is building…we have a six car garage – yep just about the size of our Small Home in the Country ~ go figure !

I always take pictures of the beautiful cars….

6-6-09 good guys 032

I love taking pictures like this – My hubby HATES it….He thinks the angles ruin the picture….6-6-09 good guys 042

6-6-09 good guys 021

6-6-09 good guys 028

O.K. Here I am . I look at this picture and think…..I need a tan, a new Victoria Secret bra – to give me a lift….LOL and a good workout – my arms are so out of shape ! My 18 year old daughter took the picture – so please forgive all that shading..

6-6-09 good guys 020

You know, it is hard to take pictures at a car show cuz peoples butts are always getting in the way, (snicker , snicker !)

6-6-09 good guys 033

This is my baby boy – all 6 feet of him ! He will be 21 in a couple of weeks and is so excited – do you have any idea why ?

6-6-09 good guys 124

Here is my “center” child…LOL ! She is almost 19 and she really wants to buy this truck – She is only 5’1” …I don’t think she can get into it…..

6-6-09 good guys 108

Whatcha think about this man sporting a “man skirt” ! My son and I were walking behind him  and I am so bad…I had to take a picture….I asked my son if he would wear this “man skirt” he said “no, because the Scots wear skirts not the Irish like me….LOL” Look at the heavy construction…looks like Carhardt…..Silly I know….

6-6-09 good guys 115

If you saw my post this last weekend “steer on the loose” – you know all about my toes – Yes, they are sporting Hot Pink – Baby !

The other funny things I saw at the car show were:

Older men with mullets…..I  tried to take pictures but for the whole effect I needed front views and it is hard to get….I think next time I am going to pose as a professional photographer and just ask, hee hee.

Ladies wearing High Heels ! Yes, it is the thing to do while walking for miles on cement and grass…..I need to do this next time….

I saw a lady with finger nails so long they wrapped around her hands and they were Purple ! I really wanted a picture – got to use that photographer line….

Hope I wasn’t a bore and my pictures of me didn’t scare you off…..

Hugs ~ Kammy

Kammy your so funny...I always laugh when I come to visit! Love the hot pink toes.. You cleaned up well from chasing the steer! Like your new blog, and thanks for the info....I wonder what white letters would look like on your blog. Bet the words would show up even better on your dark background...I love to try new things...like changing a room around!!! Keep up the good work, xoxo~Kathy~ @ Sweet Up-NorthMornings...

Kammy, what a fun post! You took some great photos! You know, hunting for a great shot can be so much fun no matter where you are!

I am married to a fellow car buff....he is working on a 30 something Chevy Truck. I do not go to a lot of car shows becuz our little 7 year old does not care too much about them. I am TOTALLY people watcher!!!! Great shots....glad you got your toes cleaned-up and repainted!

At one point I had most of a car inside my basement, not in the garage but actually in the basement. It is gone now but I kept the husband. He often goes to Hot August Nights and has so many great car pictures.
We were at a flea market on Sunday and although there was nothing good to buy it was so worth the $1 admission just to people watch. Good grief it is almost scary.

OMG Kammy! I loved the post! I like hot cars (and trucks). But you really do have to take photos of the other weird stuff. I could just picture it in my mind, but photos would have been better. Loved the "man skirt", what a hoot! Would hate for my man to wear one, but seeing someone else, it was a riot!!! The hot pink toe nails are looking good. And I too need a Victoria Secret lift up bra, but they probably don't sell one in my size.

Hi Kammy, no I didn't get bored or scared at all..lol You look great sweetie. Did get a good belly laugh...thank you! I've heard of them 'Man Skirts', Gosh, there should be a law against that..lol
I absolutely love love love the cars, gosh I love the way they roar, we do have some pretty cool car shows like that here in Denmark too. Maybe someday I'll be able to share. (between you and me, I collect Hot Country die cast cars and trucks) but don't tell anyone, our friends think it is my hubby's collection..hehe.
Thanks for sharing this! I can't wait for next chapter..lol
Hugs, Jannet

Oh now this is a good car show. We went to one on Saturday and there were a total of maybe 12 cars :0)
The grounds and the historic houses at least made it a nice tour and not disappointing. I guess the answer to your question is that yes I live with a car buff and we have a 2-1/2 story garage, shop and loft at our home in Washington that he is absent from because he's working in California boo hoo hoo...

Who doesn't love the old cars... they're great! Nice post!

Loved the Carhardt man skirt. What type of man wears that? I can only guess. We've enjoyed a lot of rain and I love how green everything is. I just don't want any of the Denver area's tornadoes. Were you anywhere close to those? Thanks for stopping by my blog. Sally

Great post! We are car fanatics here too and plan hubby's birthday in October around the Good Guys show at Texas Motor Speedway. I love the cars, but my favorite is the people watching. I like that photographer line, may have to borrow it in October tee hee. Thanks for stopping by. Kathy

Loved these photos. It seems like a nice - and humorous - day out! I wish I could have seen the mullets, they always crack me up. I don't think I could be daring enough to ask for photos though; I would be near breaking down in laughter the entire time! If you do ask sometime, I hope you do better than I would. :)

And I say you let your daughter get the truck :)

Big hugs,
Alicia

I'll have to stop back with Jacob so he can drool over your cars. He's driving now (permit) and all I hear is how he wants a "classic". You've got some cute kids there! ~ Robyn

I think all men just love cars period. Maybe all don't want to work on them. Or attend shows. But they drool over some special car. Like they do with TV's. This is a cute post. And I love the angles!

A carhadrt kilt--a tongue twister and a really funny idea! Wonder if they make camoflouge ? :)

Great cars!

The big antique car show was last week over in York County here.

It is always a big deal.

Hard to tell what kind of photos you might get if you did pose as a photographer and ask. The ones you have already are a hoot.

I love old car shows. But really? A man skirt? Did he really pull that off? Too funny!!

RobinfromCA said...

What a hilarious post! I love old American muscle cars - gas hogs that they are. They remind me of a simpler time. My husband drove a '69 Mustang when we met. Wish we had it now! The man skirt - not so great. If it's not a kilt it's just plain...well...you know.

Love your header!
