I was so excited to find this magazine/file little table thing at the second hand store for $3.99
It appeared that someone else tried to make it over but, gave up…. I loved the detail and knew I was up to the challenge !
I had my hubby cut out a piece of board the size of the top….I then got some batting and purchased some fabric for the top.
There were holes on the side – I think they were handles…I purchased wood scroll things at Lowes and painted them to match. I bought them for $7.00 – which cost me more then the holder !
The fabric was about $5.00 for a grand total of $16.00 !!! I think a got a great deal ! It is super heavy and has great lines….
It really looks good in my “studio” with everything else I have painted black. I need to clean up my crafts under my cutting table -
Remember this not so beautiful picture I got for $3.00 ? With a little spray paint and taking out the picture ….
This basket of fabric was awaiting a lap quilt…but the colors are so perfect for my studio…I decided to put them in the frame.
I sewed and sewed and sewed little squares – this is a pretty large frame.
Here is a look of it on the wall to be used as a bulletin board. I also finally made over some little clipboards to match – I think I got them at Staples for around a buck….very cheap too !
I really owe my Met Monday and Thrify Treasures to all of you out in Blogland, who create and make over stuff – YOU are my inspiration !!!

Hi Kammy -- great job on the old magazine rack! I just bought an old one, too -- but mine already has a tabletop. I'm going to paint it, and beg my artist daughter to jazz it up with some handpainting. I'll post it when it's done!
Thanks for visiting!
I can't take credit for all the work in the hallway -- for the first time in our 30 year marriage, we hired painters!

Hi Kammy - Your magazine rack is so darling! You did a great job and adding the scrollwork embellishment really adds a nice touch and makes it look expensive.

Love what you did to that magazine rack -- and how clever of you to buy those things to cover up the holes -- I would have never thought of it.
And yes, it is perfect in your space.

Hi Kammy,
I love what you have done with the magazine rack! Very creative and pretty too! Now the quilt wallhanging is reaLLY a treasure, thanks for sharing this, Cindy
Love how you remade the magazine rack. All those little fabric squares look so pretty in the frame. You are very creative. Oh and the banana ice cream recipe just make the roasted bananas and serve them over store bought vanilla or chocolate ice cream. They were amazing like banana foster.

I love the black frame that the bulletin board is in. Kelly
and
i am loving your clipboards!!!
I love what you have done with the space. Everything you did turned out GREAT! You mentioned you were using spray paint……my black spray paint which says is glossy never comes out that shiny. What brand do you use or are you spraying some type of a top coat.
Good Morning Kammy,
I have my frame ready to go and lots of scraps of fabric ... but I was curious, did you put the glass back over the "quilt" that you sewn?
I love your blog!! You have such great ideas and such lovely pictures posted!
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
