Tablescape Thursday ,Dining Casual with Tommy Bahama ! Shoes and shirts optional….

6-16-09 001 It’s a casual setting for two – Tommy Bahama Style ! I thought with Father’s Day coming up ….I needed a masculine tablescape.

6-16-09 004

I found the 3 plates on clearance at Marshalls for a couple of bucks each.

6-16-09 002

Ross flatware…..$12.99 – I have my eye out for the dark bamboo – they really go with everything!

6-16-09 006

Rattan square chargers $3.99 clearance and Bed ,Bath and Beyond.

6-16-09 013

Glasses with wicker holders – TJ Maxx $2.99 each. Green plates – thrift store find for cheap !

6-16-09 018

Little pineapple dishes 99 cents each at the thrift store.

6-16-09 028

I love this plate – it is purely ornamental…..

6-16-09 031

Do you love my pineapple candle holders ? I got them at a garage sale…the family had the teenagers in charge with nothing marked – I said how about a couple of bucks ? They said sure….I also bought 5 teapots for $2 bucks a piece…more of those later ! Anyway, back to the candle holders ….they are glass and very heavy…a little tacky unless used in the right setting….I had this in mind when I spotted them , Yeah Me ! I should have made some food , bought some beer…..

Hugs ~ Kammy

My BB (big burly) husband wears Tommy Bahama shirts all the time in the summer. They are gorgeous and so are the plates. I would have to hurt somebody to get deals like that up here...and I would.

Love the tablescape. I really like the pineapple candle holders, they are perfect in this setting. This really does remind me of the Bahamas. We had such fun there. Your square place mats are so different, love them. You did a fantastic job, masculine but so inviting. Hugs, Marty

Your pineapple candle holders are the first ones that caught my eye, Kammy, so pretty and unusual. It's amazing how your salad plates and placemats blend so well together. Good job on your tropical tablescape! A perfect preview of my coming Caribbean trip...Christine

I love it!!! I was lucky & found the dark bamboo flatware at Ross. You find the best deals. I'm on a "can't buy anything" diet right now. It's killing me. So I've been too down to do a tablescape. But I'm enjoying everyone else's.

Kammy, I saw the same Tommy Bahama's at my Marshall's but most were printed with tobacco and I just didn't like that. And they were on clearance for $1 each!

I love the masculine table, very cool for Father's Day!

Kammy, I love it all! What a great masculine table you've set. Those plates are so nice, and it's great that you got them on clearance.

And, no, my bee flatware is not on its way to you. It's hiding so you don't steal it! LOL! You mentioned that darker-colored bamboo flatware. I just got that myself last week at Home Goods, and I can't wait to use it.

Well done, Kammy! I love it even though I usually detest pineapple/anything to do with the tropical sorta look [strange, I know]. But, this works! What does the husband think of it?

Also, such a steal at the garage sale! Gotta love when they leave teenagers in charge who would like to be anywhere but manning a garage sale! I'm jealous of the cheap prices for the teapots... grrr. :)

Kammy, thanks so much for stopping by my TT and as always you are so gracious. I really love the lanterns and I do think you need some. They have them on clearance at Home Goods and they were under $10 ea. That is usually my limit on spending, but I just thought I could use them in a million ways, so for me I splurged. So I think you should buy some and then we can see how you use them and then I'll have more ideas of how to use mine. They do have glass on the sides, so they'll be perfect outside too. Ok, go get some. lol Hugs, Marty
