Steer on the loose ! Just another day….

Getting home from work – my 20 year old son was out feeding the critters…..Next thing I know I get a cell call “mom , the steer is out of the pasture !”  What did we do in the olden days without cell phones ?

Try catching a cow that isn’t halter broken is quite fun….We had to get Rio our palomino out and get the cow to follow (the cow we call him Angus loves Rio !) He is a little tired now after we corralled him back into our pasture…he is huge !

See our horse Rio and Mr.. Grady Tucker  they act like nothing happened….

See how muddy it is in the barnyard ! It has been raining for days….

See my dirty feet – I should have taken a picture of my lovely white sandals  - they are a wreck now….I then changed into old navy red flip flops and lost those in the mud….I really did need a new pedicure..I think I will paint them pink tonight….LOL

I can relate to the dirty toes because my yard is being redone and there has been a lot of rain, and I am working out in my garden. So don't feel bad there are more toes like yours! Loved reading your 6 things about you too. Sounds like you have a wonderful quiet place to live and not have to move. Thanks for stopping by my place.

Mornin' Girlfriend...

Just read your note and had to come right over! I'm so glad that you got the big pics figured out...your blog looks fabulous, my friend!!! I was just about to email your the "how to's"...was busy last night with anniversary plans. Yeeehawww!!! I love the stretch minima template...besides the nice big photos the font is easier to read too!

Ohhh my...I have spent a few times chasing down a cow or two...hehe! You were lucky that the steer likes your horse and you could get him corraled! That's too funny! I know, probably wasn't funny at the time! Girl, we have gotten so much rain that the ground is all squishy here too! Over here in northeast Colo. we usually don't get this much rain...but it's nice, we can always use it!!!

Well Darlin'...you have a fabulous Friday and weekend...I'll talk with you later! Love your new blog look and so happy that you figured it out!!!

I remember trying to get the cattle in when they got out. They just want to go their own way and trying to convince them to go YOUR WAY is so much fun. ;) We've had lots of rain out here, too! Maybe things will dry out this weekend.

My daughter would love to live your lifestyle...a small home in the country with a variety of farm animals and her own barn and pasture for her horses. Me...I'm more of a "city girl". ;)

Thanks for stopping by at my blog! Nice to meet you....I had already checked out your blog this week too. Great minds think alike!

Love your farm life....both sets of my grandparents had farms, so I always loved being around the animals and in the dirt. Still love the animals and being in the dirt. :)Some things NEVER change!! I am new to the blog world too. I do not know how to do a lot of things on a computer....work in progress. Take care....I'll keep checking on you!

There's nothing like a little steer chasing to get the heart pumping is there? Years ago we had ten escape at once, and I only noticed as they were walking by the kitchen window. My son had to round them up on his dirt bike.

The biggest thing I want to chase down is a cup of coffee. I am such a city girl. Except for the dirt part, I do like dirt. It is what makes us grow.

I'm glad it was you & not me! Sounds like a good excuse for some new shoes! Now go paint your toenails pink (if you haven't already done so).

I can't even imagine trying to "catch" a steer! I'm in awe! Sadly I'm only one generation removed from a farm family and I would be totally lost!

what a great post. I shared this one with my boys - they both want to be vets!. P.S. Thanks for visiting my blog. I'll stop back soon!

Kammy, I think your pedicure is in pretty darned good shape, considering what it's been thru!

I am in awe of your being able to maneuver that steer in any fashion! He is HUGE. Which to me, a city girl, translates as "scary." My idea of animal wrangling is picking up my 20 pound spaniel and putting him in the travel crate in the back of the minivan.

Love your blog, and the window it opens on your life! thank you so much for sharing with us!

Oh my goodness, corraling animals is quite a chore, and you did it in the wet also. Anyway, I still loved the pic of your feet. lol Too cute. I was thrilled to hear that you found some Pfaltzgraph Village dishes. I absolutely love mine and I have multiples of just about every piece they made. It does wear like iron and even after 30 yrs. I still use it everyday and still like it. I have question also, how do you get your pics to post larger? If you don't mind sharing, I would love to know how. You could email me at marty39@cox.net. I would really appreciate it. Hugs, Marty
