Who says you have to get married to get new dish towels ?

How come the last time I got a mess

of dish towels, it was when I got married (1984) ?

My dish towel drawer (I am so embarrassed to show you) looks like this …

I gave myself permission to retire all dish rags – towels

to Hubby’s rag drawer (located in the garage).

I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a

whole drawer full for about twenty five bucks.

I really really wonder, why I never thought of this before…

Now, I give you permission to look at your dish rags – towels

and give them the boot.

(aren’t I sooo nice ??)

Go ahead, go buy some new ones….

Blame me..

Hugs,

Kammy

p.s. I believe that I will be doing this to the bath towels next….

they are scarrrrrrry !

This may be a duplicate comment - getting crazy messages.
Anyway, if I have to get married for new dish towels, I will deal with the ragged. :-D

Isn't it funny what we keep for so long. I have lots of newer dish towels but they are always stained. Oh and my pot holders. Scary.
Next I should move on to my sock drawer. Nope. Bras first then socks.

Thanks Kammy I needed permission, I bought some new ones at target and they are still in the bag!
I just needed a little nudge to
break them out and be done with
the old ones!

Yay! I did just buy new dish cloths and it's so nice I need to get new dish towels, they're all mismatches from getting little towel/cloth/potholder gift sets each Christmas. And wow my potholders are ragged too!

I love the colors Kammy. I just did the same thing, with the tea towel drawer. I don't know why I wait so long to change this drawer. There are some nifty tea towels out there and not too bad for the pocketbook.

I wonder why we hang on to crappy dish towels and pot holders. Ever once in awhile, I suck it up and buy some new (but usually not soon enough!) Enjoy our beautiful Colorado weather. Sally

Ya know, it's fun to do things like that. I did that about 4 or 5 years ago, and I must say, I get a happy little smile on my face when I buy a new dish towel!

Oh!! Thanks! :) Nice to have permission. It is so true. It would be fun to have new dish towels. There are some pretty ones out there.

Why is it that we keep everything else in our homes in gorgeous order, but we will keep dish towels and bath towels until you can see through them...apparently it is a worldwide epidemic that we all suffer from.

Ha, you're not the only one, Kammy! Mine are horrible, too, and I don't know why I don't buy some new nice looking ones. Probably because I'm afraid someone is going to use them to clean up some globby, saucey mess! I am determined that kitchen and bath towels are the first thing on my list when we move. New house, new towels ~ isn't that the saying? : )

Thanks for permission. Fact is, I looked at some of those same towels at WM yesterday. Guess now I too will get new ones. Potholders too. My thin ones don't hold much heat anymore.
Great idea!

Absolutely great idea Kammy. I would so enjoy doing that.

Yours look a whole lot better and woe betide hubby if his hand strays to your drawer in the future.

Thanks for commenting on my painting post!

Your new dish towels look great! We had a jumbled mess of dish towels too (mostly from our wedding), then I found some great waffle-weave ones at costco and stocked up. Next thing to update: oven mitts!

Ha ha... this is too funny. Actually, I recently cleaned out my "rag" drawer too. Most of them were from BEFORE I got married. It wasn't planned, but when I was at Home Goods and saw some nice ones, I decided it was time. Thank you for the sweet comment on my blog! Rebecca
