Met Monday – What a Crock !

I purchased this crock a couple of years ago from a lady who really needed the money…she didn’t want to part with it as she had it for years. I love it and knew what I was going to do with it….. It weighs a ton !

See it is about 2 feet tall and 2 feet wide.

My husband was going to cut a piece of wood for the top and then when we were at Lowes one day, we found different sized pieces of wood already cut into circles.. So we added some stain and then I really wanted a piece of glass for the top (glass is expensive !) My husband was able to get a piece of acrylic for way cheap (not quite as nice ..but will do for now).

Here it is next to my #4 size butter churn. Both make excellent storage for my small home. I keep out of season clothing in the big one and umbrellas in the little one.

I love crocks! I have 4. But none as big or fabulous as yours. I use 2 on my counters for storing kitchen utensils. One for storing sunglasses. And the smallest one for holding my pens & pencils. Thanks for sharing yours.

I love those old crocks, you can use them for so many things, very clever to put a top on it like that!
I loved all the blue ware you found in a previous post! You scored big with that.

Cute crocks! We have Redwing Crocks here in our area. My brother has the large one like you and did the very same thing - wooden top with glass and uses it as an endtable in his family room. I was jealous of his then and I'm jealous of yours now! - LOL ~ Robyn

Kammy - very creative storage ideas. My Grams had one of these but another family member inherited it. It was used on her farm out in her smoke shed to store salted pork. Such memories this post has brought back. Thx for sharing!

Hi Kammy,
That's a huge and magnificent crock! How clever to use it for storage. Although, if it were in my home, I'd probably find a PBJ sandwich inside of it! :) Did you change your template? It looks nice!

I just bought a big crock like that yesterday at a garage sale for $5.00 Canadian. No lid but in good shape.
