Thrift store frames used for decorating

I bought these two frames for less then 5 bucks each. I took off the canvas and the yucky pictures…they didn’t come with glass. I thought they might be nice painted and used for decorating accents. Do you have any frames lying around ? Think of the endless possibilities – colors, textures, sizes you can use to add a punch to any space and at a thrifty price.

I do have some oak frames hanging about that would look much better black.
Have you left any black paint in the stores for the rest of us? Lol

Hi, those are great looking frames. Sarah and I went to the Goodwill on Broadway in Denver yesterday and EVERYTHING was half off! It was fun looking for goodies, and did bring some things home. It was almost as crowded at the Art Museum. Too many people for me! I am pretending it isn't white and gray outside today. How about you?

The frames look great. Isn't it amazing what a little paint can do? The white pottery is lovely!

Hi Kammy, Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you come again...I see your favorite movie was Avatar...me too!!~ I loved it, and was not sure I would going into it. You have a beautiful blog and I am glad you led me the way to it!!~

No worries Kammy! You were probably out painting. At least you get things done.

Your comment about lights on the roof would be funny but it's too true, there have been helicopters involved, and dogs too. There was one day I couldn't even go home, they had the whole block closed while searching for someone there!Oh for the days when it was just a bunch of loud college boys reving their enigines and peeling out in the middle of the night!
Hugs,
Dawn

Kammy~ what a nice transformation to the thrift store frames. Repurposing them enhanced the beautiful details.
It's so fun when you find those hidden treasures while thrifting.
I adore your collection of white pitchers. I've just starting collecting. My hubby gave me a white porcelain set of square dishes (recently) for my B-Day. So...come summer I'd like to have a few pitchers to pair them with.
Haven't seen you for awhile, stop by for a visit:)

Sweet wishes,
Sara

Today was my first visit, but it won't be the last.

Beautiful, and you've inspired me. I have a family picture, but I need something larger to help fill my space, so I think I'll put a big, empty black frame around it!

OMG I have to laugh. I have bought beautiful old antique frames, no pictures or anything - you can literally see the wire and they are crumbling and broken. I lean them up against things, on my mantle, on our bakers rack on top of the hall hutch. And every time my FIL comes over he laughs and exclaims "Call the cops somebody stole Karen's paintings!" He just thinks it is the strangest thing to not have any pictures or paintings in them. :) I LOVE THEM! just the way they are!
Great post! (Can you tell I'm backlogged on blogging! I need to catch up!)
:) Karen
