Thrifty Thursday – China and Wire

001 I found 6 cups and saucers and a matching bowl…Earlier in the week the thrift store had plates and a gravy boat I missed. I waited till half price day – the cups and saucers were then $2.50 a set and the bowl $4.00. The plates were like seven bucks a piece…I decided that I would buy the cups and saucers , cuz they are always the hardest to find – I will keep my eyes open for plates ….

Chicken wire basket – I might paint it….don’t know yet…026

I love this antique candy dish – I bought it for five bucks from a one of my neighbors who deals with antiques. I just met this neighbor recently (our boys have been friends for a few years – small world !) and she loves to go “junking” so maybe we will get together – I just have been crazy busy  - so it is on my list.

Hi Kammy,
So lovin the cups/saucers! I saw some similar at a thrift store and I could kick myself for not grabbing them. When I went back, they were gone. Love the chicken wire basket too, that would be so cool for a rooster decor theme. Have a great day, Cindy

I love red and white, Kammie! Are the cups ans saucers Johnson Brothers?? I have a few small bowls of a different pattern I think and I have ben thinking of looking on ebay to add to them. You got a great deal.

I love your wire basket too. Did it come with the "Rosemary" dish or is that yours?? I like it the way it is. :-)

Also love the colors and gold rim of your candy dish. Wonderful finds. I will have a new post up later in the day....

Kammy, I love the red and white china! I think you got a really good deal on it too. I always grab the red and white, because it's rather hard to find around here. I hope you find the plates and gravy boat that you missed out on!
Have a great day!

You know I have seen that candy dish somewhere before. I don't know who's house I was at but I remember the dish.
It could be dangerous shopping with this new friend. Can you take her in a fight when the most incredible deal pops up in front of both of you?

Kammy,
I really like your basket and it is cute the way it is. Of course, it depends on where and how you want to use it before you will know if it needs a paint job.
